Appointments

How do you see the Doctor?

We use a 10-minute appointment system for all routine consultations. To improve continuity of care we encourage patients to see a regular (usual) doctor where possible. You have the choice of seeing a different doctor if you wish, or if your preferred doctor is not available. To make an appointment please call 01869 248585, or call in at the surgery. We offer routine appointments which are bookable up to 2 weeks in advance, or emergency appointments which may be available the same day. We hope to be able to offer an on-line booking service in the future.

If you have a problem which will not wait for a routine appointment, please tell the receptionist. Urgent problems will always be dealt with as soon as is reasonably possible.  Sometimes it will be necessary for the receptionists to take some details regarding the nature of the urgent problem so as to allow the doctors to prioritise their work.

If you cannot keep your appointment, please let the practice know as soon as possible so that the appointment can be given to another patient. Please try to arrive in good time for your appointment – if you are late, you may not be seen and will be asked to re-book.

Please note that the timings of surgeries can vary from time to time, and this should be taken as a guide.

We are pleased to also offer some appointments earlier in the mornings and later on in the evenings. These are primarily aimed at working individuals who find it difficult to attend during working hours, especially those who commute.

Telephone Consultations

The doctors are happy to give advice for simpler problems over the phone. If you wish to speak to a doctor or nurse, please ring the receptionist on 01869 248585. They will give the doctor or nurse an electronic message to ring you back. If they are free, they may put you through directly.
