Child Health Checks & Immunisations

All of the partners offer routine New Born Baby checks for those babies who did not have this examination done at the hospital following delivery (you will be informed by the hospital if your baby needs this check). The partners also undertake 8-week health checks prior to your child’s first immunisations. Please inform the receptionist when booking either of these health checks for your child as they will require a twenty minute appointment.

Subsequent immunisations by appointment with the practice nurse.

Health Promotion

We are strong supporters of healthy living, which we know reduces the risk of health problems later in life. If you are a smoker, are overweight, or drink to excess, please see either the practice nurses or your preferred doctor for further advice

Cervical Smears

These are performed routinely, either every 3 or 5 years, depending on your age. You will normally receive reminders and results through the post. The practice nurses perform most of the smears.

Counselling

We are fortunate to have the services if an in-house counsellor. However this is only a limited service for specific problems.

Family Planning

By routine appointment with your preferred doctor. IUDs (Coils) can be fitted by Dr Galuszka jointly with the nurse, but we would advise you to speak to your usual doctor first.

Chronic Disease Clinics

Our nurses have individual interest and experience in many chronic diseases and their management, and can offer regular checks to help monitor your condition and optimise the care you receive.

Travel Advice & Immunisations

Please complete and return a travel form to the receptionist, ideally at least eight weeks before you travel. The practice nurses use these forms to advise you on necessary travel advice including immunisations or medications you may need.

Medicals & Non-NHS Work

The NHS does not cover certain services, including medicals for HGV/PSV licences, insurance or employment purposes. Nor does it cover administrative work such as reports for insurance companies, holiday cancellations, fitness-to-do-something letters or private sick notes. Please note there is a fee for these items of work, on which we are now obliged to charge VAT.

Further details are available from reception.
