chaperones

During your appointment with a doctor or nurse you are welcome to ask for a chaperone, this may be one of the nursing team but if they are unavailable a member of the reception staff can chaperone with your agreement.

Change of Address

If you change your address or contact details, please let us know as soon as possible. Please remember that a change of address may also mean you are outside our practice area.

Disabled Access

We have designated parking places for disabled patients, and the building is accessible to wheelchairs and there is a toilet for disabled people. There is a lift to the first floor rooms.

Hard of Hearing

There is a hearing loop fitted in the waiting area for the hard of hearing.

Carers

Please tell the staff if you are a carer or need the support of a carer.

Ethnicity and Language

We have access to a telephone translation service when required. Please inform reception when booking an appointment if you will need this, and which language you speak.

Confidentiality and your medical records

The doctors and staff have a legal responsibility to keep your records safe and confidential. The doctors will only divulge relevant information to other medical staff where appropriate. No third party will have access to your records without your written permission.

All patients have the right to see their medical record. If you would like to see your medical records, please contact the Practice Manager who will explain the necessary procedure.

Patient responsibility

You should always contact the surgery if you cannot attend an appointment, need to cancel or re-arrange an appointment. The appointment is for one person only and it is not fair to the doctor or the other patients waiting if you ask for another person to be seen within your appointment.

We fully support the Zero Tolerance policy within the NHS. We will not tolerate aggressive or abusive language or threatening or violent behaviour towards our members of staff. Violent patients will be reported to the police and struck off the GP’s list. We request that our staff be allowed to support and care for our patients without fear of being abused or attacked.

MEDICALS

The surgery provides a prompt and efficient service for patients needing medicals. We are happy to provide a service for our own patients and patients from other local practices. Please contact reception 01869 248585 for an appointment and our current rates.
