A MESSAGE FROM PATIENT ACCESS

Having listened to feedback from patients, we are pleased to announce that the welcome page for Patient Access has been updated, making it clearer and easier to use.

New layout
Patients will be able to setup their Patient Access account through the 'Register' section on the left hand section of the screen, using either the registration letter from their practice or the on-line registration facility.

The sign in section on the right hand side should be used once the patient has setup their online account.

Note: if you are reissued a new registration letter as an existing user of Patient Access then you should use the left hand section and re-register.

New help
The 'Help with Patient Access' section has also been updated to include frequently asked questions and videos to assist users.

OUT-OF-HOURS EMERGENCY GP SERVICE

Out of Hours Medical Advice

Between the hours of 6:30 pm and 8:00 am Monday to Friday, and at weekends and bank holidays, please call 111. Information will be taken and passed to a doctor for further advice. If an appointment or visit is necessary this will be made for you. Please only use this service if you feel it cannot wait until the next working day.

In an Emergency

In the case of a suspected heart attack or major health problem, ring 999 and ask for the Ambulance Service.

NHS 111 Service

NHS 111 is a new service that's has been introduced to make it easier for you to access local NHS healthcare services. You can call 111 when you need medical help fast but it’s not a 999 emergency.

How Does It Work
The NHS 111 service is staffed by a team of fully trained advisers, supported by experienced nurses. They will ask you questions to assess your symptoms, then give you the healthcare advice you need or direct you straightaway to the local service that can help you best. That could be A&E, an out-of-hours doctor, a walk-in centre or urgent care centre, a community nurse, an emergency dentist or a late-opening chemist. For further information, please click here.

Minor injuries

We would normally expect to deal with minor injuries at the surgery. Please call 01869 248585 for further advice. When the surgery is closed, there is a First Aid Unit at Bicester Community Hospital which can deal with minor casualties.

Emergency Dental Services

Please ring your own dentist (if you have one). If you are not registered with a dentist and need assistance, please ring NHS Direct on 0845 46 47
